First and foremost, thank you to all our Rocky Mountain Endurance athletes who gave “good sport” a renewed meaning.  Turns out, we here at RME, don’t control the weather the way we thought we did.  Humbling reminder that makes us appreciate our sunny training rides.

Thankfully, with the support and positive feedback of all of you we were able to protect our trails from damage and make up the race in a smooth fashion.

It was exciting to see the buzz of the Honey Bear jumpy castle grow as more racers arrived with their families to what became known as Battle the Bear Squared, along with a plethora of other name variations.

Yes, the Marathon and Half Marathon races were exciting but it may have been the Warriors World Championship that took the cake for most exciting races.  Over twenty kids ages 3-12 participated in an eventful kids race that had the crowds eweing and aweing.

Later as the big kids came rolling through the grand RME finish line the satisfaction of a hard long effort was written on faces.  To be a make-up race this event still had the busy feel of it’s originator only minus many of our sponsors who were committed to attend other events.  Missing our sponsors makes us realize their importance for this series to be such a success.

Thankfully, Oskar Blues was among those who could attend and the crowds were more than pleased by their presence at the finish line in the shade of the trees.  The new venue was remarkable as expected and especially convient for parking and team tents through the pit zone.  We look forward to utilizing this venue even more next year.

Congrats to all our finishers, winners, and series leaders.  It was a pleasant site to see the leaders jerseys roll off the start line at this race and make their way through the course.  Lots of hard work goes into being a series leader and we salute you.  All said, we had happy kids, happy grown-kids, and a super make-up race.

Again, many thanks for all the patience with the rain, reschedule, and refunds.  Here’s hoping we get some other R&R before the next big event, the Breckenridge 100, which we are thrilled to update you on soon!
