Eldora Escape Race Update 8/20

The XC course is marked and now open for pre-riding! What a treat to ride this hidden gem of a course again. Fast, rolling, tacky, woody, rooty, technical – this course has it all. Except dust! It won’t be dusty!!

Note some lap distances have been tweaked for some categories to make for a more rewarding race distance and time. We don’t want people out there for much longer than two hours. This shouldn’t be an endurance race!

Camping is only $10 for the weekend and is available in the north parking lot at the resort. Restrooms and water are available. You can arrive on Friday anytime during the day and set-up camp, and just pay for the camping Saturday at registration. Sorry no open fires or charcoal grills are permitted, and no showers are available. Also, there are 3 bears living in the aspen grove nearby so keep your garbage packed up and don’t let the pets or kids wander around after dark!

2008 B100 Start

He did it again.

Josh Tostado won the overall title in the fourth annual Breckenridge 100 mountain bike race, claiming his fourth victory and smashing his old course record by nearly 50 minutes.

The Breckenridge, Colo. local was hoping to beat 8.5 hours, but won the July 19 event with a time of 8:14:37.95.

“I was definitely surprised how fast it turned out, but I feel a lot stronger this year and I’m feeling like I’m at the peak of my season right now,” said Tostado.

Race promoters expected a showdown between Tostado and Evan Plews, who was ranked second in the National Ultra Endurance Series before the July 19 event. read more...
